A number of events have been schedule to help celebrate this important milestone.  They include:  Founders Dinners in January, Parade and Reenactment of the Cornerstone Laying at the State Capital Building in June, and the placing of a special commemorative marker at the grave of Gen. Rufus Putnam, our first Grand Master.

  • Founders Day Dinner - Every District will hold a special dinner sometime in the month of January to commemorate the founding of the Grand Lodge in January 1808.
  • Parade and Cornerstone Reenactment - A Masonic parade is scheduled for June 21st. The parade will begin at Nationwide Blvd and High.  The route will follow High Street south to the State Capital. After the parade, there will be a reenactment of the cornerstone laying ceremony for the Annex to the Statehouse.
  • Rufus Putnam - Gen. Rufus Putnam was elected the first Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Ohio. On July 4th, the officers of the Grand Lodge of Ohio will place a special marker at his grave to commemorate his service to the country and Freemasonry. Putnam is buried at Mound Cemetery in Marietta, Ohio. An outdoor raising will be conducted that morning by Harmar and American Union Lodges.
